Laser for Soft Tissue

We pride ourselves on using our expertise alongside some of the most advanced dental technologies to provide our patients with the best care possible—especially when it comes to caring for the soft tissue in your mouth.  Our diode soft tissue laser treatment produces amplified light waves that can be used to help in an array of treatments from soft tissue surgery to pain therapy to teeth whitening.  This new technique allows us to fix almost all gum issues, address cold sores and ulcers with a greatly reduced time to heal, and create better impressions.

Why Laser Treatment?

All lasers work by delivering energy in the form of light. When used for dental procedures, the laser acts as an instrument to remove problematic tissue that it comes in contact with. This tool causes less pain and often reduces the need for anesthesia. Laser treatment is a terrific alternative to drills, for those who may be sensitive to the use of a drill. Laser treatment minimizes bleeding and swelling during treatments, and may preserve more tissue as compared to alternative treatment options.

Our soft tissue laser treatment offers many benefits including:

  • Less chance of infection
  • Less discomfort
  • Cleaner and healthier surgical site (for minor gum surgeries and biopsies)
  • Faster healing
  • Reduces pain and longevity of cold sores and fever blisters

What Are Mouth Ulcers?

Mouth ulcers are uncomfortable open lesions or sores in the mouth. They can be caused by several issues ranging from canker sores to gingivostomatitis to fever blisters, but they all the share the same discomfort of pain in your mouth. Most mouth ulcers heal with time, however, if necessary we can provide treatment to relieve symptoms through a gentle cleaning, topical antihistamines, corticosteroids or antacids.
