Tooth Contouring and Reshaping

Do you have dental imperfections like slightly overlapping or irregularly shaped teeth?  How about small chips or cuspids that you think are too pointy?  Tooth reshaping, also called dental contouring, could be the answer.

Tooth contouring is a cosmetic dentistry procedure that Dr. Parrish and Dr. Childs use to remove small amounts of tooth enamel (your tooth’s outer covering) in order to change the shape, length and overall appearance of one or more teeth.  In some cases contouring may be used to correct small bite problems that occur when teeth come into contact with each other.

Contouring is considered to be an instant treatment as most reshaping procedures can be concluded in just one visit.  Additionally, the procedure is often combined with Dental Bonding, a cosmetic dental treatment in which a tooth-colored composite material is applied in order to further shape and sculpt the teeth.
